JSC "August", Inc. was set up on August, 31, 1990. Director General of the company Alexander M. Uskov has been its principal shareholder and executive.
 In 2008 the sales volume of the company amounted to more than USD 128 mln. (incl. VAT, as of mid-May, 2009). Over the last ten years JSC "August", Inc. has been among the leaders in the Russian market of crop protection chemicals having gained 20 % market share. JSC "August", Inc. also supplies its products to Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Moldova.
 Since 1996 JSC "August", Inc. has been developing its in-house manufacture at “Vurnary Mixed Preparations Plant” (the Chuvash Republic), which is currently the company’s affiliate. The Vurnary Plant is the most up-to-date and specialized Russian enterprise manufacturing crop protection chemicals. The available technological capabilities allow producing here almost all known pesticide formulations.
The company consistently increases its production base and has come in the international market. In 2005 "August" set up joint venture “Changzhou August Agrochem Company Ltd.” in China for crop protection chemicals manufacture. In the nearest future "August-Bel", an affiliated company of JSC "August", Inc., will finish construction of the new plant in the Republic of Belarus for formulation of liquid forms of pesticides. In 2008 "August" founded its affiliate in Brazil – "August-Brazil" and started registration of its products in South America.
 JSC “August”, Inc. has invested considerable amounts of money resources in creation of its in-house research center developing new product formulations. The company's in-house research-and-production base and high professional qualification of its specialists enable "August" to successfully develop and bring into use progressive pesticide formulations, to diversify and improve the range of its products. The company exercises rigid control over the quality of the manufactured products, which is achieved by means of high technologies. "August" has become the first and the only Russian specialized pesticide production company certified by three international standards – ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management System) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System).
 The range of the products manufactured by the company comprises nearly 50 names of herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, defoliants, seed disinfectants, and adjuvants. They are supplied to farmers through the company's distribution network including 46 representative offices in the most important agricultural regions, and also by distributors. On the whole, the company's products are delivered to 76 regions of the Russian Federation. In 2008 the amount of pesticides supplied to agrarians came up to almost 11 th. tonnes. Furthermore, company "August" manufactures and constantly expands the output of the products in customer-size package for private household plots.
Since December, 2002 JSC "August", Inc. has been a member in the Russian Union of Crop Protection Chemicals Manufacturers, and Director General of JSC "August", Inc. Alexander M. Uskov — the President of the Union.
